QUESTION: What’s your policy on sending job applications at 2 a.m.—does it make me seem dedicated or just sleep-deprived?
Laura Fontenot, Masterwork Resumes
Applying at 2AM? Either you’re incredibly committed or you’ve lost track of time! Either way, hiring managers care more about *what* you send than *when*. That said, don’t let late-night deadlines lead to rushed mistakes. A polished application beats a bleary-eyed one every time!
Scott Gardner, Vitae Express
Send it when you want, just schedule the email to arrive during business hours. A 2 a.m. timestamp could raise questions or appear odd to someone. A 7:59 a.m. could show planning and polish. The time you apply should not distract from the quality of your application.
