It’s a mixed bag. Many companies that were fully remote are shifting to hybrid, with some issuing RTO mandates. Flexibility depends on industry, role, seniority, and location. Many tech roles (software, data, UI/UX) are more remote-friendly, while roles involving lab facilities, equipment, or clinical care are far less so. And yes, many RTO pushes exist largely to justify empty office space.
